PANNING BUKAN PENING

Few panning shots taken during side event at putrajaya hot air balloon fiesta. Angle for tricycle was quite okay but not for a pocket bike...unable to squeeze inside the tight crowd....so end up had to shoot at almost straight angle facing the "bikers"...

As described in one of the website:

The basic idea behind panning as a technique is that you pan your camera along in time with the moving subject and end up getting a relatively sharp subject but a blurred background.
This gives the shot a feeling of movement and speed. It’s particularly useful in capturing any fast moving subject whether it be a racing car, running pet, cyclist etc.
Panning seems to work best with moving subjects that are on a relatively straight trajectory which allows you to predict where they’ll be moving to. Objects that are moving side to side are challenging and can result in messy looking shots as the motion blur can be quite erratic.

MONUMEN ALAF BARU PUTRAJAYA

Pics of monumen alaf baru and its surrounding taken during my family outing to hot air balloon fiesta at putrajaya. The main structure resembles almost similar to egyptian obelisks and indeed look like a replica to me. Am not sure why obelisks structure was chosen for this building. Perhaps it symbolized the nation achievement since parameswara era until now as inscribed on its transparent walkaway panel.

HOT AIR BALLOON FIESTA PUTRAJAYA 2011

Family outing to hot air balloon fiesta at Putrajaya last weekend. The event started as early as 7 o'clock in the morning. First day we missed out the major hot air balloon action due to late arrival. The next day we arrived there about 7.45 am and by the time we reached there, almost 10 hot air balloons were already in the air. Enjoy the pics taken below. Pictures taken using nikon d90 with tele lense 18-200mm and tokina 11-16mm.
